JOHANNES BOEKHOUDT

I am an abstract expressionist artist committed to social criticism.
My vision is to utilize the canvas as a form of communication.

JOHANNES BOEKHOUDT

Born in Curaçao and raised in Costa Rica,  Johannes Boekhoudt now calls Dallas home. The abstract expressionist launched his art career in New York. Since then, Boekhoudt’s work has been presented in exhibitions throughout Latin America and the Caribbean in museums and galleries.

Utilizing the canvas as a form of communication for social commentary, Johannes is continuously stirred by the world around him; he evaluates societal circumstances he has experienced—some troubling or disturbing, some joyful or mysterious—and then interprets them through a series of large format paintings in oil, acrylic or mixed media on canvas.
