Tobin Garth Karicher uses a unique combination of mediums to create his signature luminescent and tonal paintings; a personalized mixture of pigments, paint varieties, and a special suspension medium that evoke atmosphere, intimacy, and mood.

Tobin Garth Karicher has been a professional painter since in 1990. His first commissioned work came from a French composer Jean Yves Labat deRossi.

After practicing Classical Realism for over 10 years, he abandoned the use of reference material and found painting from his mind’s eye and his subconscious was more satisfying.

Karicher uses a unique medium to create his sublimely luminescent works, a proprietary mixture of pigments, paint varieties and a suspension medium.

Karicher's fine art paintings have been shown in London, New York City, Washington D.C.; Santa Fe, Miami, and his hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

Permanent collections include: Sony Music, Paris; The CIA, McLean, Virginia;  Warner Brothers Entertainment, NY; to name a few.

Karicher resides and works in Union Hill, City of Richmond, Virginia and received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.

I find abandoning surface concerns and painting in an almost visceral manner puts forth a much richer, and powerful painting.
